Eligibility for funding depends on the scheme, so contact the funding body direct for more information. As a general guide, you will need to meet the following conditions
You must be an asylum seeker or the partner/dependant of an asylum seeker; or an asylum seeker/partner/dependant who has been granted Limited or Discretionary Leave to Remain (DLR) or some other form of temporary status.
You will need to be attending a school, college, community or voluntary group that can provide a reference in support of your application, or find a local/national charity that will support your application for funding.
You are unable to access mainstream funding, for example student finance, a local authority grant or benefits.
If you are applying for a university scholarship you will need to have a conditional or unconditional offer for a course from the relevant university.
You will need to meet the specific funding criteria of the organisation/university to which you are applying. For example, many universities will only consider applicants living within commuting distance of the university. Contact the relevant organisation direct for more information.
